Cirilo Vargas of Salinas, CA passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, at the age of 96. He was born on July 7, 1927, to proud parents Arturo Vargas and Micaela Cardona.
Cirilo married the love of his life, Maria Vargas, in 1951, and together they raised two wonderful children, Nilsa Micaela Estrada (Raul) and Ivan Vargas (Margie). Cirilo was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren, Ivan and Isaac Vargas, and Ashley Caberto (Kenneth) and Dominic Estrada.
Cirilo served his country honorably in the US Army for 26 years, and spent the last 10 years of his service as a drill sergeant at Fort Lewis, WA and Ford Ord, CA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Jude's Church in Marina, CA. Cirilo enjoyed bodybuilding as a hobby. His commitment to staying fit and strong inspired all who knew him. He was an avid fan of WWE, and enjoyed driving and maintaining his Corvettes.
Cirilo will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
