Abel Tovar Sr. was born on February 21, 1965 in Bakersfield, CA to Rev. Magdaleno and Josephine Tovar.  He went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2016. He grew up in Bakersfield, CA with four brothers and five sisters. On August 24, 1980 at the age of 16, he was baptized by his father Rev. Magdaleno Tovar in the name of Jesus Christ at the Apostolic Assembly Church in Shafter, CA.  Abel married the love of his life Sara Hinojosa on August 17, 1986. The Lord blessed Abel and Sara with three wonderful children, Abel Jr., Nehemiah and Crystal.  Abel was a loving and compassionate person.  His love and passion for cooking was expressed through his delicious dishes.  Abel will forever be in our hearts.Visitation will be held on Wednesday. November 30, 2016 at Mt. Vernon Apostolic Assembly (519 Mt. Vernon Avenue) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Mt. Vernon Apostolic Assembly at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Shafter Cemetery (18662 Santa Fe Way Shafter, CA).
