"Alfie" Bores Jr.Age 94, of Marshfield passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of service. Alfie was born on March 15, 1923, the son of Alfred and Rose (Ksiazkiewicz) Bores Sr. in rural Stevens Point. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1942. From January of 1943 until December of 1945 he proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corp with the 307th Bombardment Group (HV) - The Lone Rangers. During his time in the military he served in the Philippines, the Dutch Indies and New Guinea. After his time in the service he moved to California where he worked as a head checker for National Distributors Company for 37 ½ years before his retirement. Alfie resided in California for 56 years where he met and married Marge Davis. Sadly, Marge passed away in 1999 and he moved back to Marshfield to be with his family. To Alfie, there were no strangers in his life, he welcomed new opportunities to meet and make friends with his "contagious" personality. Even during his recent illness, he brought smiles to those around him. He was a constant practical joker who had 100 stories and they were all hilarious no matter how many times you heard them. Alfie was an amazing artist and singer, especially his impressions of Dean Martin, Frankie Lane and Jean Autry. He loved watching his favorite teams with a "Heine's" in hand especially the Green Bay Packers and his favorite player Clay Matthews, the Badgers, the Brewers and the Dodgers. He was not only a member of his own "Turtle Club" but also the president with many members who have been sworn in. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and helping them see the humor in life.Alfie will be greatly missed by his eleven great nieces and nephews: Susan Wolf of Marshfield, Judy Weis of Madison, Dan Weis of Pittsville, Ron Weis of Marshfield, Rich (Linda) Weis of Marshfield, Joe (Sherri) Weis of Auburndale, Jeff (Becky) Weis of Marshfield, John (Shelly) Weis of Minocqua, Tom (Elizabeth) Weis of Delafield, Bill (Jill) Weis of Reedsburg and Brian (Cheryl) Weis of River Falls; his niece-in-law's Sally Weis of Marshfield and Kathleen Weis of Marshfield; his 16 great-great nieces and nephews; his great-great-great niece along with numerous step nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Marge, his parents, his sister Florence Weis, a nephew Ervin Weis, a niece Beverly Wingert and his great nephew Robert Weis.
