RACINE - Arthur E. "Bud" Petzke Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Hospice Alliance-Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on May 12, 1926, the son of the late Arthur and Esther (nee: Leonard) Petzke. Bud was united in marriage to Doris C. Ericksen on October 3, 1953 at Bethania Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955; stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Vet Radar Base. He was a custodian with Racine Unified School District for 24 years, retiring in July of 1991. Bud had also been employed with Hanson/Sturino Funeral Home for more than 30 years. Surviving are his children, Tim Arthur Petzke and Heidi (George 'Butch') Filber III, all of Racine; five grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Norby, George (Erica) Filber IV, all of Iowa, Tim, Joseph, and Nicholas Petzke all of Racine; six great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Helene 'Fayna' (Ben) Wasik and Kay Ericksen all of Racine. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris on December 31, 2007, great grandson, Ethan Norby, daughter-in-law, Louise Petzke, sisters-in-law, Audrey (Elmer) Ericksen, brother-in-law, Robert (Elsie)Thompson and Jens Ericksen. Memorial services will be held at Bethania Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 12 p.m. There will be a visitation at the church on Saturday from10 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon.
