McKnight, Audrey Ann Frank 82, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017. Audrey was born on December 27, 1934, in Phoenix, which was her lifelong city of residence. Audrey attended Creighton Elementary School, North Phoenix High School, and Arizona State University, graduating in 1956. Upon graduation, Audrey had a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher. Upon retirement, Audrey served the Creighton School District as a member of the school board and also as president of the school board. As a young girl, Audrey was active as a member of the Camp Fire Girls, achieving numerous levels of achievement and involvement. As an adult Audrey was involved in a variety of activities and organizations. She and husband, Bob, traveling in their motorhome, mostly to events of the Arizona Roamers, a dune buggy club. Audrey enjoyed playing bridge weekly with several clubs, and helped organize the yearly reunions of the NPHS, Women, Class of 1952. Audrey was recently honored as a 60 year member of Beta Sigma Phi International. She loved this association and served on numerous comittees and held various offices, making many lifelong friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Veda Frank, and by her husband, Robert McKnight Jr., Audrey is survived by her brothers, Rev. Orin Frank Jr. of Greenwood, AR; Noel Frank Sr., of Lorena, TX; nephew Noel Frank Jr., wife Stephanie and children Blake, Noel and Layla; niece Nicholle Martin, husband Jim and son Justin; and numerous cousins. A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will be held at noon on Saturday, March 4, at the family home, 2942 N. 28th St. Audrey supported numerous charities and organizations, perhaps the closest to her heart was the Veda B. Frank School in Guadalupe. The family wishes to thank the for their compassionate care in the last few days.
