RACINE - Barbara Ann Power (nee: Wheatley), 77, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2014. Barbara was born on February 7, 1937 in Racine to the late Lawrence and Florence Marie (nee: Livingston) Wheatley. Barbara absolutely adored animals, especially her dogs. She was a wonderful musician who played guitar, organ, and accordion. Barbara also had a beautiful singing voice to add to her talents. She enjoyed square dancing and polka, and had the dresses to accompany the dancing. She liked to bowl and you could never erase the smile off of her face. Above all, Barbara was a loving mother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed her monthly gatherings with her sisters, and loved her children, nieces, and nephews with all of her heart. Barbara will be dearly missed by her children, Deborah LaMere, Pamela LaMere, and Mark Millwood; grandchildren, Daniel (Monica) LaMere, Faith Overton, and Cory Millwood; and sisters, Marian Ludwig and Bernice Bolton. Barbara also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Florence; her son, David A. LaMere; her great-grandson, Victor Gabriel LaMere; and her siblings, Leo Wheatley, Fred Wheatley, Bette Balthazar, and Helen Bulik. Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11AM at Wilson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet with Barbara’s family at 10AM on December 23 until the time of service at 11AM. Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.
