Barry Kim Brooks, age 62, a lifelong resident of East Tawas died on Monday, July 1, 2014 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City. He was born on Feb. 27, 1952 in West Branch. Barry was a former employee of Bolen Trucking and worked with the Iosco County Sheriff's Department and the Tawas City Police Department and helped patrol the Tawas area. Barry loved spending time with all his "favorite nieces" and his family. He enjoyed his daily trips to the junk yard to check in on his brother and spending time with his sisters. Family was truly a part of Barry's life. He loved watching the Detroit Tigers and NASCAR, looking at old trucks and coin collecting. Barry is survived by his loving and caring brothers and sisters, Lance Brooks, Penny Pfeiffer and Marty Lee; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Abey and Jon Boughner, Amy Lee, Sarah Brooks, Haylee Beasinger, Devon Beasinger, Matt and Tina Beasinger, Jeremy Beasinger and Bradley Williams; and his dear friends, Jimmy Thunberg and Doyle Nelkie. A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at Tawas City First Baptist in Tawas City. The family will welcome friends at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
