Feb 10, 1954 - Jan 26, 2016
This obituary is administered by:
Bruce was born on February 10, 1954 in Mayfield, Ohio. He graduated from Mayfield High School and attended the University of Miami in Florida. Our lives have been blessed with this strong courageous man, but on Saturday, November 26, 2016, God needed a hero. Bruce, of Deltona, FL. battled for 5 years with his family by his side providing constant love and support. He is reunited once again with his parents Louis and Beatrice (Larner) Moss and his granddaughter Keilyn. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Judy (Scott); his daughter Danielle; his son Scott; his granddaughter Kaelyn; his sisters in law and brothers in law; Pam Scott of Jacksonville, FL, Jan Scott (Tony Kalenkosky) of Louisville, KY, Jill Gunstrom (Floyd Cancello) of Louisville, KY, Leon Miller (Marie Verrett) of Denver, CO.; his nieces and nephews and great nephews; his best friend Rick Parella; his faithful companion Midnight and his friends too numerous to list, but not forgotten. A baseball player throughout his years, his love of the game led him to coach both his daughter in softball and his son in baseball. Bruce was also an accomplished bowler with two 299 games to his credit. In his adult years, Bruce played softball and bowled for his company team. His favorite hobbies and pastimes included ice skating, vegetable and herb gardening, tropical fish, science project builds with his children and his home improvement projects. If the directions read "some assembly required" it was that much more the challenge. He loved watching The Three Stooges and slapstick comedy. Bruce was quick-witted and filled a room with love and laughter. He and Judy enjoyed their serene Harley road trips. All of his relatives and friends were the lucky recipients of his creative cooking. He enjoyed golfing, especially with his son and the shooting range with the whole family. His favorite holiday was Halloween, constructing the displays with his children that would marvel the neighborhood. His displays were always children friendly with a bit of humor just for the adults. Reading to the "apple of his eye", his granddaughter Kaelyn, was his true passion. Service Technician by trade, he worked 25 years for Service America where he made lifelong friends and the customers would ask for him by name because "there wasn't anything he could not fix." Special Thank you to Dr. Nair, Dana, Sarah and his team from Mid-Florida Cancer Center for their loving care and devotion to Bruce. To the Hospice Team at Florida Hospital Fish, our gratitude for the comfort you provided to him. "Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother in law, Uncle and Friend, you are our hero." Our tremendous loss is Heaven's gain. We love you forever. We will miss you forever. A Celebration of Life for this wonderful man will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 noon-2 p.m. in the Crane Room at Deltona Memorial. As an avid gardener, Bruce requested no cut flowers but instead plants, vegetables and herbs to adorn the visitation room. Please continue Bruce's dedication to your local ASPCA and the Lupus Foundation of Florida 535 Central Ave., Suite 304, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 by donating in his name.
