Bruce N. Blanton, 74, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Promise Hospital in Mesa, AZ. He was born on March 28, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents Herschel and Lucille Blanton. Bruce was a meat cutter for most of his life. He became the meat manager for Safeway and then the MCAS commissary. He later retired in 2007. Bruce was an avid golfer, basketball player, softball player and enjoyed handicap horse racing. He mainly enjoyed spending time with his family and doing several outdoor activities. He really enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives. In his earlier years he was a student and graduate of Amphi theatre in Tucson, AZ. He also attended AWC. Bruce is survived by his wife Rosemary, son David Blanton (Carol Jean), Sister Barbara Wells, Sister-in-law Emily Blanton, Uncle Charles Kirkpatrick, 11 grandchildren, and his 8 great grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his son Steven Blanton who was taken from him by another's hand in 1992. His daughter Collette Blanton who died of cancer in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Jocelyn and great granddaughter Summer. His parents Herschel and Lucille Blanton. Lastly, by his brothers Carl and Hugh Blanton. The service will be held at Yuma Mortuary, 775 S. 5th Ave., on July 11 at 10:00 a.m.
