Charles Roger Bissell, Sr.ROSEVILLE: Charles Roger Bissell, Sr.,80, formerly of Roseville, passed away Fri. Mar. 17, 2017 in Athens, Ohio. He was born on Jan. 11, 1937 in Ayer, Massachusetts a son of the late Richard Meredith and Adelaide (Boutelle) Bissell. He was raised in Groton, MA. He was a lifelong painter and also worked 30+ years for National Gas & Oil. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Roseville where he served as Sunday School teacher and superintendent, was a trustee and a lay leader. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Roseville. He was a past member of the Roseville Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by six children James M. Bissell, Tammy L. Bissell, Bridget D. Bissell, Virginia "Gina" (Corey) Fluhart, Shawn D. (Kelly) Bissell, and Charles Roger (Kara) Bissell, Jr. Twenty-one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Eight siblings Joyce Carpenter, Meredith (Jean) Bissell, George (Nancy) Bissell, Gwen (Kim) Kimble, Norman "Chip" (June) Bissell, Eleanor Bissell, Carolyn Bissell, and Betsy (Craig) Parker.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carolee Bissell. Twin grandchildren Sara and Sharon Davis. Two brothers Arthur Bissell and Clyde Bissell.Special thanks to Tina (John) Hooper, "Team Grandpa", and the staff at Kimes Nursing Home for the care and joy they brought to him during the past two years. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Mon. Mar. 20, 2017 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tue. Mar. 21, 2017 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Roseville with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
