Clark Eugene "Gene" Hart, 85Muncie - Clark Eugene "Gene" Hart, 85, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017, at the Woodlands Health Care Center following an extended illness surrounded by his family. He was born on August 10, 1931, in Muncie, the son of Chester and Frances (Harbaugh) Hart.Clark is a 1949 graduate of Cowan High School and later married the love of his life, Vivian (Singer) Hart on October 28, 1951 at the Cowan Christian Church and she preceded him in death August 5, 2014. Mr. Hart had proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the Headquarters Company 81st CML Group as a Corporal. He later had worked in various positions ranging from a mechanic, to selling shoes and finally retiring from Delco Battery in1997 after 30 years of service working on a casting strap machine in the utility department. Clark was called to preach and served as Pastor of the Ridgeville Calvary United Methodist Church for over 20 years and then the Wilmore United Methodist Church and eventually became the Associate Pastor of the Morning side Baptist Church. He is the former Chaplain of the Ridgeville Fire Department.His memberships include, the Odd Fellows Lodge of Yorktown, the United Auto Workers Union local 489, the Delco Battery sympathy Club, the United Methodist Church Northern Indiana Conference. He enjoyed camping and traveling.Survivors include three sons, Dale Hart (wife-Rita), Gary Hart (wife-Sherrie) and Eric Hart (companion-Christy), all of Muncie; twelve grandchildren, Chrissy Goins (husband-Mark), Eric Hart, Jr. (companion-Tina), Jodi Hart, Ryan Duffey (wife-Monica), Megan Sechrest(husband-Rob), Rachel Young (husband-James), Dale Eugene Hart II (wife-Casee), Kayla Barnett (husband-Brandon), Chad Lee Hart (companion-Robin), Charles Wesley Hart, William Christopher Hart (Aleece) and Daniel Holton; seventeen great grandchildren; one brother, Keith Hart (wife-Vicki), Kentucky.Besides his wife of 63 years Vivian, he is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eloise Phelps.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Larry Waters officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
