Wessel, Clarke L.Clarke L. Wessel, 65, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton with his family beside him.Clarke was born on August 12, 1950 in Sheboygan, a son to the late LeRoy and Dorothy (Nysse) Wessel. He attended schools in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. He later attained an associate degree in Computer Programing from Madison Area Technical College. On October 27, 1979 he was united in marriage to Janet Carstens in Manitowoc. He was employed with Verifine Dairy from 1978 until his retirement. Clarke was a family man who with his good sense of humor enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dining out with family. He was mechanically inclined and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting.Clarke was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.Clarke is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Chris Wessel of Fond du Lac and Justin (Holly) Wessel of the town of Lima; two daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Gibson of DePere and Meghan Wessel (fiancé, Matt Thornton) of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Emmalyn Gibson, Benson Wessel, an expected granddaughter and Matt's daughter, Riley Thornton; and two cousins, Joyce Wessel of Greenbush and Donna Kraemer of Chippewa Falls.A funeral service for Clarke will be held, 5 pm, Tuesday, July 19 at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristin Berglund officiating. Following cremation burial will take place in the Greenbush Cemetery in the Town of Greenbush. Family and friends may visit at the church, 2104 Geele Ave., Sheboygan from 3 pm until the time of service at 5 pm.A memorial fund has been established in Clarke's name.The Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with Clarke's arrangements.Clarke's family would like to express their gratitude and sincerely thank the staff at the Aurora Medical Center ICU in Grafton.
