Dean RiggsCROOKSVILLE: Dean Riggs, 88, of Crooksville, passed away Friday November 1, 2013 at Holzer Senior Center surrounded by his family.He was born on September 21, 1925 the 12th child of the late Burton and Belva Riggs who resided in Langsville. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Peabody Coal Company in 1990 after 27 years of service.He is survived by his daughter, Randi Dean (Jim) Black; step-daughter, Sandra Campbell; grandchildren, Sammi (Bill) Harper, Derek (Kim) Black, Micah Clark, P.J. Clark, Sarah Campbell, Chris (Linda) Lucas, John Glenn Lucas, Amy Rose Brock, Beth Ann (Randy) Patterson; 15 great -grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren; his twin sister, Delma (Downie) Nelson; one brother, Carl (Marlene) Riggs; and a special friend, Marty Vann.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wavalene Riggs who died in 1990, eight brothers, Robert, Raymond, Roy, Hobert, Burt, Earl, Herbert, and Arnold, two sisters, Dorothy and Mildred.Services were held on November 4, 2013 in Vinton, Ohio.
