Donald Benjiman McStotts Jr.1946 - 2017Donald Benjiman McStotts Jr. passed away on January 31, 2017 following a courageous battle with multiple health issues.Don was born on June 28, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Helen and Don McStotts. Don graduated from Granite High School in 1964. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry for several different companies. Don had a unique gift of providing people with moral support, a kind word or financial assistance. Don enjoyed hunting fishing and coin collecting. Don's greatest joy was his grandson, Brayden. They enjoyed many telephone conversations together.Don is survived by his spouse and best friend Linda Simar Seely; daughter Lisa (Bob) Gordon; sons Donnie (Amanda) and Cody (Kim); grandchildren Brandon (Emily) Bisby, Tera (Bryant) Wright, Damon Liston, and Brayden; sister Cathie (George) Pappas; and brothers Phil (Gail), and Charles (Kris). He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Helen; special sister Tiny Hope; prior spouses Judy Bland and Trudy Shirley; and special companion dog, Josie, who could alert him when his blood sugar was low and always by his side.Special thanks to all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the VA Hospital, especially Nicole Stephens.Viewing will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City. Services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd, West Jordan. The family invites you to celebrate Don's life at a luncheon immediately following interment at Holy Trinity Memorial building.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to the Holy Trinity Cathedral for the Piloptochos Benevolent Fund.Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor.
