DONALD F. KAVANAGH On the morning of July 23rd, 2016, Donald F. Kavanagh of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away of natural causes. Don was 87 years old. He was born on February 25, 1929 in Taunton, MA and was known as "Sonny" by family and friends growing up. During his high school years he was actively involved in and lettered in basketball, often leading the team in scoring as a starter. After high school, he served a short time in the military. He then pursued a career in the airline industry, where he worked for at least 40 years, holding various positions across the United States. For at least 30 of those years he was a Flight Dispatcher for Ozark Airlines in St. Louis, MO. Some of his loves were golf (watching and playing), grilling steaks after work, and taking his family camping at Lake Pomme De Terre and to the Indianapolis 500 Time Trials. He is survived by his wife Marie Leona; sister, Doreen; his children, Renette Kavanagh, Greg (Karen) Kavanagh, and Michelle (Paul) Kavanagh Brown, and his grandchildren, Claire, Kathryn, Julie and Steven Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com
