Donald Milton Anderson, 72, of Tunkhannock, Pa., formerly of Towanda, Pa., passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 5, 2016 at the Timber Ridge Nursing Facility in Plains Township, Pa. Donald was born on Dec. 2, 1943 in Terrytown, Pa., the son of Clinton L. Anderson and Jennie Croft Anderson.He was a graduate of Towanda High School Class of 1962 and later served with the
U.S. Marine Corps.In early years, Donald was employed by Snell's Auto Sales in Wysox, Pa., and by Masonite Corporation in Wysox for 28 years. He subsequently served as a corrections officer with the Wyoming County Correctional Facility for 10 years until retirement.Donald enjoyed playing the accordion, softball, woodworking and cars.He is survived by his companion, Sylvia Repsher of Tunkhannock; children, Vicky Hogan of Hornbrook, Candi Parsons and husband Kevin of New Albany, Clinton Anderson and wife Tonya of Monroeton, and Randy Vanderpool of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Hogan, Adam John Hogan, Derek Clayton Vanderpool, Matthew Ryan McKernan, Tylor John Newhart, Anna Vanderpool, Logan Anderson and Trevor Walker; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Mader of Myersburg, Virginia Neiley of Myersburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his extended family, Tammy Jenkins, Sandra Ritz, Holly Banta and Kenneth Repsher Jr., all of Tunkhannock. He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Teetsel Anderson on April 18, 1988; father, Clinton L. Anderson in 1959; mother, Jennie Croft Anderson Ward in 2003; and stepfather, Carl W. "Curly" Ward in 1984. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa., with the Rev. Robert Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Camptown Cemetery, Camptown, Pa.
