Donald R. Otte, 83, of Sheboygan, left his earthly home to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Donald died from a serious lung infection which was discovered about one year ago.Donald was born on February 20, 1934, in Sheboygan, to John and Magdelena (Vercouteren) Otte. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School and continued his education at UW Milwaukee and VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. On June 8, 1957, Donald married his best friend, Mary Ann Pietenpol, in Oostburg. Donald was employed at Sheboygan Falls High School as a Music Teacher until his retirement in 1995.He was a member of First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls where he served as a deacon, youth group leader, praise team member, and choir director for over 20 years. Donald also directed the Pine Haven Men's Chorus for over 20 years. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Otte; three daughters, Pamela Jean (Kenneth) Tarr of Kohler, Penny Lou (Robert) Eggert of Pinellas Park, FL, Lisa Mary (Curt) Sauer of Port Washington; one son, Daniel Roy (Dawn) Otte of Sheboygan Falls, nine grandchildren, Tessa (Brian) Hofman, Caleb Ebbers, Catrina and Elizabeth Tarr, Christian, Josh, and Jared (Roanna) Eggert, Trenten and Nathaniel Otte, Justin VerVelde, Tanner, and Hannah Sauer; five great-grandchildren, Alena Hofman, Lacey and Mason Otte, Aiden and Gavin Eggert; three sisters, Rachel Rademaker of Oostburg, Diane (Carl) Joosse of Hingham, and Judy (Ernie) Meise of Sheboygan, and one brother, Gerald (Audrey) Otte of Sheboygan.Donald was preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdelena Otte; Grandson, Zachary Otte; three sisters, Florence Jensema, Ruth Klujeske, Lois TeWinkel, and two brothers, Carl Otte, and Robert Otte. A funeral service to celebrate Donald's life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 11:00 am at the First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating. A burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Town of Wilson.Relatives and friends may greet the family at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
