Besser, Dorothy Catherine,100, of Louisville, passed away on January 19, 2017 surrounded by members of her loving family.She was one of two children, born on May 8, 1916, of the late John A. and Katherine Biegert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman G. Besser, and her sister Alberta Willoughby.She was a very humble wife and mother who adored her family and her faith. She loved to garden and often showed off her garden as well as wanting to see the gardens of family members. Roses were her favorite flower.Left to cherish her memory are her five children, John Besser (Susan), Lawrence Besser, Kenneth Besser (Bernadine), Janice Besser, and Gregory Besser. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, Jacqueline Brown (Michael), Lawrence Besser, Jr., Joe Besser (Jennifer), Carrie Talbott (Aaron), and Christina Gaddie (Daniel). Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Zachary Besser, Eddie Besser, Frankie Besser, Owen Talbott, Julian Talbott, and Sammy Besser. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barrett from 2-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 23 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 760 Eastern Parkway. Burial to follow in St Michael's Cemetery, 1153 Charles St., Louisville.In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mass of the Air.
