Dylan Rivera, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2026, at the tender age of 24. Born on March 5, 2002, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dylan was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His infectious smile and boundless enthusiasm for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends.

Dylan was raised in a loving family that supported his passions and dreams. From a young age, he exhibited a remarkable talent for music and a deep appreciation for the arts. He spent countless hours playing his guitar, composing original songs, and sharing his love for music with anyone who would listen. His creativity and passion inspired those around him to find joy in their own pursuits.

Dylan excelled academically while also being heavily involved in extracurricular activities. He was a member of the school’s band, where he showcased his musical talents, and a dedicated volunteer in community programs aimed at uplifting the lives of others. His commitment to making a positive difference in his community was evident through the countless hours he spent mentoring younger children and participating in local charity events.

After high school, Dylan enrolled in the University of Maryland, where he pursued a degree in Music Composition. He thrived in the university environment, where he found inspiration among fellow artists and musicians. Dylan’s professors recognized his dedication and called him a true innovator, often encouraging him to push the boundaries of his creative expression.

Outside of his academic pursuits, Dylan loved to explore the vibrant city of Baltimore. Whether he was discovering new coffee shops, attending local concerts, or simply enjoying a day by the waterfront, he embraced every moment. His adventurous spirit led him to travel to various cities across the United States, where he made friends and shared his music with diverse audiences.

Dylan is survived by his loving parent, Ricardo Rivera, and his siblings, Deanna Salenieks, Victoria Edwards, Amber Waughtel, Shania Waughtel, and Jesse Waughtel. He leaves behind a close-knit circle of friends who will forever cherish their memories of laughter, deep conversations, and shared experiences. His family and friends will remember him not only for his talents but for his kind heart, willingness to lend a helping hand, and his unwavering belief in the goodness of people.

A celebration of Dylan's life will take place at the family home in Baltimore, where friends and family are invited to share stories and memories that honor his legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to local music education programs.

Though he may no longer walk among us, Dylan Rivera's spirit will forever resonate through the music he created and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
