BEAVERCREEK - Edgar L. (Ed) Collins, 78, of Sheboygan Falls, WI passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, WI after a brief illness. Ed was born on April 21, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, son of Leland W. (Mike) and Leona E. (Boos) Collins. On June 14, 1958, he married Carma Kay Hook in Seaman, OH. Carma passed away on August 7, 2013. Ed was employed as the Vice President of Human Resources for Bemis Manufacturing Company in Sheboygan Falls for 27 years until his retirement in 2000. Prior to his time with Bemis, Ed was employed by the National Cash Register Company in both Dayton, OH and LaCrosse, WI. Ed was an accomplished athlete, and well known by friends and opponents for his competitive streak. He is a member of the Beavercreek (OH) High School Athletic Hall of Fame where he lettered in 4 sports, started on 3 state champion baseball teams, and set career records for basketball scoring. In later years he enjoyed various activities including trap shooting, softball, basketball, fishing, hunting, traveling and attending athletic and musical performances of his grandchildren. He was also well known for his love of hot-dogs at high school sporting events! Ed is survived by his two sons, Timothy (Laurie) Collins of Mequon, WI and David (friend Maureen Grim) Collins of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Sara (Erick Posner) Collins of Springfield, VA, Katherine (Eli) Charles of Sheboygan, Michael Collins of Chicago, IL, Andrew Collins of Mequon, and Margaret Collins, also of Mequon, two great-grandchildren, Isaac Posner and Sophia Delgado; sisters-in-law, Thelma Himes of Xenia, OH and Emily (Jim Niemic) Hook of Florida, and niece Cheryl Collins of Dayton, OH. Ed was preceded in death by Carma, his beloved wife of 55 years, both parents, his daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Walsh) Collins, his only brother, James Collins, and his only nephew, Michael Collins. He was a generous and decent man who was always dedicated to trying to do the right thing. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Per Ed and Carma's wishes, there will be no formal visitation. An informal gathering for family and close friends will be arranged at a later date.
