Doubrava, Elaine Barbara (Schonmeyer) Elaine Barbara (Schonmeyer) Doubrava of Phoenix, AZ, died peacefully with family present on October 28, 2017, at age 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene N. "Gene" Doubrava, grandson Richard Ryan Doubrava, and nephew Dale Schonmeyer. Elaine was born on June 27, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Alfred and Barbara Schonmeyer. She married Gene in 1944 in Cleveland. Elaine worked as a draftsman on the first jet engines at Thompson Products. She was known for her acute hearing, as she was often called on to hear and locate small engine parts amid all the engine noise. The family moved to Arizona in 1952 where Elaine lovingly devoted her considerable energy to her husband, her three sons and the many volunteer jobs she held at church and the boys' schools, Scouts, and sports. Elaine is survived by her brother Dale (Pat) Schonmeyer; sons Richard (Juanita), Dean (Deborah), and Dana; grandchildren Thomas (Deborah), Amy (Wesley), and Jarred (KimberLee); and nine great-grandchildren; niece Beth (Thomas) Moran; and many friends and extended family. A celebration of Elaine's life will be held at her favorite place, Greer, AZ, in early Summer 2018, where she taught three generations of us how to fish! Elaine's love for her family and friends was only surpassed by her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to . Visit
