Elwood S. Wilkins, IIIAGE: 87 • Landenberg, PAElwood (Wilkie, Ed) S. Wilkins, III age 87 of Landenberg, PA passed away on April 9, 2017. He was born on January 6, 1930 in Wilmington, DE to the late, Elwood S. Wilkins, Jr. and Marie C. (Peterson) Wilkins.Elwood worked for DuPont Stine Laboratory in the Agricultural Research Department for over thirty years. He was a graduate of Newark High School and Maryland Institute of Art. Elwood was an avid automobile historian and was known as an expert in local 18th century antiques and history. He was a member of a number of organizations including: Antique Automobile Club of America, Pennsylvania Heritage Society, Chester County Historical Society, Historic Red Clay Valley, Inc., Wilmington and Western Railroad, and Archaeological Society of Delaware.Elwood is survived by his sister, Clara M. Streets of Newark, DE; nephew, Dale A. Streets, Sr. and his wife, Kara of Middletown, DE; and their children: Dale A. Streets, Jr. and Alexandra M. Streets.A celebration of Elwood's life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00AM at Hockessin Friends Cemetery, 1501 Old Wilmington Rd, Hockessin, DE 19707.
