Siebers, Floyd M.Floyd Mark Siebers, age 85, passed away at his home on Sunday morning October 29th, 2017.Floyd was born on September 28th, 1932 and lived his entire life in Kaukauna with the exception of his time in active service.Floyd was drafted and served in the
Army in Company One in the 4th Infantry division. He achieved the rank of Corporal, and was stationed in Fairbanks Alaska with the Ski Patrol. While in the military he earned the National Defense Service medal and a Sharp Shooter medal. After his time in service, on September 23rd, 1958 he joined the Kaukauna
V.F.W. Post 3319 where he was an active member and served on the Firing Squad for over 50 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 258 in Little Chute and served 61 years as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1033.He worked in the Construction Building trades for many years with many different crews, and was proud of all the projects he worked on, including the Prange building, and the AAL building downtown Appleton. He developed lifetime friendships from those work crews. He also worked 12 years for the Village of Combined Locks with the Street Department and in Parks. Prior to retiring he worked through Building Services at the Combined Locks mill until his retirement.Floyd is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel (Janice) Siebers of Waupun; and one daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Matthew) Graminske of Appleton; along with three grandsons: Joshua Siebers, Michael Powell, Matthew Powell, all of Appleton; and 5 step grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Lorraine (John, deceased) Stoeger; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Mary) Siebers; and a sister-in-law, Janice Siebers. He also has many nieces and nephews.Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine (Green) Siebers; five sisters: Florence, Laverne, Elizabeth, Cordell, and Madelyn; five brothers: Harvey, Gerald, Arthur, Emmet (Bing) and David; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. He was also preceded in death by his ex-wife Susan (Lenhart) Petznick of Appleton. They remained lifelong friends.Floyd was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years and his family and friends were very important to him. He loved socializing and enjoyed playing his harmonica especially when accompanied by others playing the harmonica or accordion. Polkas were his music of choice. His yard and his garden occupied his time and he was very proud of how well he kept it up. Floyd was generous and loved giving away the fruits of his labors. He had a funny sense of humor and a warm, kind spirit. Dad, we love you and will miss you dearly. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate and Deacon Steve Vande Hey will assist.
