Frances Celinda Peters CALEDONIA – Frances Celinda (nee: Colburn) Peters, 107, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Willowgreen Assisted Living Center. She was born on May 3, 1908 in Lake City, Iowa, Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Elias H. and Anna (nee: Cloake) Colburn. Frances was united in marriage to Ralph R. Peters. During her working career she had been employed with Badger Shirt Factory, Goldblatts and J C Penney. Frances had been a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church for more than 35 years. She also was a member of the Florence Nightingales. Frances was one of the first residents at Lincoln Villas Apartments, where she helped organize their card, craft and sewing groups. She also enjoyed ceramics and painting. Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Glen (Margot) Peters; grandchildren, Larry (Carol) Anderson, Barbara (Bob) Anderson, David Anderson, Becky (Chris) Kluchki and Keith (Sue) Peters, 11 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, daughter, Louise (Donald) Anderson; brothers, Robert and Charles Colburn; sisters, Tillie Crawford, Loretta Jennings and Nadine Robinson. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 Green Bay Rd. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Krista Zimmerman officiating. Frances will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park in a private ceremony. There will be a visitation at the church on Thursday, before services from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church have been suggested by the family.
