Frances Marie BridenSacramento, CAFrances Marie Briden was born on February 25, 1925 in Sioux City, Iowa. She passed away at 91 years old on November 20th, 2016 surrounded by her family. Fran attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, studying home economics. She became a dietician for Stouffers and designed diets for hospitals. Fran met her husband, Don Briden at Iowa State University, while he was working for Fish and Game, (he later went on into the education field.)They moved to Redding, California in 1955, where they raised their three daughters. Fran became a teacher and taught in the Redding and Central Valley communities for 25 years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, PEO and AAUW. She was an accomplished pianist, seamstress, quilter, and gardener. Fran moved to Sacramento, California in 2002. She is lovingly remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother and best friend. Her family was her greatest joy, the second was a good game of cards. She leaves her sister, Patricia Groth in Grinnell, Iowa, three daughters, Diana Briden and Christine Levine in Sacramento and Sandy Erickson in Cloverdale, four grandchildren, Michael Saletta, Taylor Saletta, Kawika (Stina) Kiili and Danielle Elins, and two great grandchildren, August Kiili and Gunnar Kiili.
