Frederick StoughtonAugust 7, 1948 - December 2, 2016SOUTH BEND - Frederick Stoughton, 68, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:40 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1948 in Argos, IN to the late Richard and Louella Stoughton. On April 23, 1988 in Knox, IN, he was united in marriage to the former Lori (Mills) Stoughton, who survives.Mr. Stoughton is also survived by three daughters, Rose (Christopher Stewart) Stoughton of South Bend, IN, Christina (Andrew) Bosch of Warsaw, IN and Jennifer Stoughton of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Dylan and Nathaniel Miller; sister, Diana VanDeraa of Richmond VA and brother, Bernard (Elizabeth) Stoughton of Knox, IN.Mr. Stoughton was a lifelong area resident. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart. He also served in the National Guard and Coast Guard. He worked for the Plymouth Pilot Newspaper. He will be remembered as a "Super dad and husband of the year".Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. , South Bend, IN. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
