"Ellie" was born on August 24, 1931 to Sabine Oehrlein and Paul Gossfeld in Coburg, Germany. That is where she met and married her late husband serving in the U.S. Army, later moving to Crescent City, California. After moving to California she pursued a career as a Nurse's Aide, working at the Seaside Hospital and then moving to Tulare, California. There she worked at the Tulare District Hospital for 32 years before retiring in 1992. Mom loved taking care of her patients.Gisela is preceded in death by her parents Sabine and Paul, and her brother-in-law Ossi Schubert, in Germany. She is survived by her sister Anneliesse Schubert of Germany, and her three daughters: Jany Schamann (Bill), Carol Tate (Don), and Patty Lemos (Joe). She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Candice Salcedo (Eder) and Will Schamann (Brandy); six great-grandchildren, Vincent, Victor, Jack, Sierra, Paige, and Amanda, all from Tulare; and her beloved pets Dolly and Emma.A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 W. Kern, Tulare. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E. Kern, Tulare. Arrangements entrusted to Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service.
