GLEN EBERHART
MORO — Glen Charles Eberhart, 75, lifelong resident of the Bethalto and Moro areas, passed away at 1 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Glen was born on Oct. 11, 1941, in Bethalto, a son of the late Julia (Ursprung) and Erwin Eberhart.
He married Judith Wigger on July 8, 1972. She survives.
He worked as a millwright at Olin Corporation for 43 years, retiring in 2002. Glen was a member of the Wood River Moose Lodge and could be found there almost daily in his spot at the end of the bar. He also enjoyed helping his son on his farm property, where he loved giving tractor rides to his adoring grandchildren, the lights of his life.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Dee Eberhart of Bethalto; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori Eberhart and Michael Augustson of Moro; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are a brother, Gerald of Bethalto, and a sister, Louise Weyen, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Wiemers of Bethalto.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home, 727 E. Bethalto Boulevard in Bethalto.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Hand officiating.
Interment will be at St. James Cemetery on Route 159.
