A Beautiful Soul Never Forgotten
Glenda Ann Gibson was born on Jan 2, 1943 and later was married and became Glenda Krason. She lived to have 1 child, Brian and remained unmarried after her second marriage ended. She went on to out-live her mother, father, sister till age 77.
Glenda had lived a life that, in a few words, had an impact on everyone she met. She was known for many things like her medical background, her writitng, her wacky sense of humor, her love for birds and animals, her love for makeup and skin care, her love for shopping at Ross and Khol's, and her love for reading. She was a mother, a sister, a niece, a grandmother, and most importantly a great friend to many. If you asked her what her greatest accomplisnment in life was she would probably pause for several seconds and say she had too many that she couldnt even think of one. One thing that she was admired for was her adventerous spirit and spontanaity in life.
Glenda aka "Gonny" was by far one of the most smartest women I knew. she taught me so many things that even to this day I am finding that I am still learning from her. She taught me about the brain and how complex the human body is, she taught me alot of things about psychology, love and relationships. She taught me about how to keep a clean house and how to shop and cook. She taught me about my skin and how to apply makeup including highlighter way before it was popular. Amoungst so many things that she taught me, most importantly she taught me how to stick up for myself and she helped me learn alot about who I am. She was always there to listen to my troubles and my excitements and I always repsected her advice and counsel. She wasn't the most talkative person, but she had alot to say when she was intrigued and the stories she had to tell could fill a library. Known to her 2 grandaughters as Gonny, Glenda deffinately impacted everyone in such a way that her face is forever engraved into our minds and hearts.
Just like everyone else, Glenda had endured alot of heartache, trauma and tragedy, but that never stopped her from achieving happiness at the end of her life. She makes all of us proud, as you would never know the things she has survived when you first meet her. Infact the first impression of her most would say that she is a women of integrity and comfortable in her own skin. anyone would came incontact with her always walked away learning something new. One of her favorite topics to talk about was her Cherokee heritage and the Native American history. She could talk for hours about this and it was obvious she was proud of who she was. Anytime I wanted to learn something about history, I would give her a call.
One thing that alot of people don't know about Glenda is that she was very intuitive and an inspiring writer. Unfortunately she never got the chance to create a book but I know for a fact if she was still here, she would be working on creating more short stories. When it comes to intuition, Glenda had it good. I like to think that, that is where I got my intuition from. She had a way of knowing when something wasnt right about a person or situation, and dont even try to hide your emotions from her because she could sense it a mile away!
If there is one thing that I want the world to remember about her is that she was loved by so many! The reality that she wasn't honored through any type of memorial or official obituary is very disheartening. So that is why I am making this so that everyone will know how much she was loved.
Her passing was one that was quite rapid. From a seemingly healthy woman back in October 2018, to a severe paitent of dementia in September of 2019, in just a year's time she was losing her battle. This rapidly evading disease consumed her so fast before anyone had the chance to make the most of her time. According to the hospice workers, she wasn't alone or in pain when the good Lord called her home. It gives me such peace to know that there are workers who volunteer out of pure goodness to serve those in their last days such as my beloved grandmother. To the ladies of Clare House in Tulsa, OK Her family could never say thank you enough.
There are many people that could tell endless stories about her but she she will forever live in our hearts and will not be forgotten.
