Harvey E. Kendall, 88, of Tawas City died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 17, 2016. Formerly of National City, Harvey was born on June 17, 1928 in National City to the late Ray and Anna (Jordan) Kendall. He was a licensed builder in the National City and surrounding area. Harvey was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army.Harvey was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, hunting, planting trees, bingo and spending time with family and friends. Harvey was a kindhearted, giving man who will be deeply missed.Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Lipski) Kendall; son, Timothy; and grandson, Mark John; as well as brother and sisters. He is survived by a sister, May Martin of Ohio; and two brothers Bob, (Louise) of Holly and Louis of National City. He is also survived by his children, Melinda Kendall (Dean Lanning), Polly (Fred) Schalm, Heidi (Gregg), Chris Kendall (Dina) and Tim (Diana) Kendall. He was blessed with grandchildren, Chris, Marie, Malana, Ryan (Andrea) and Cheyenne; as well as many other children who called him "Grandpa" who include Josh, Jordan, Karagan and Kyla. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Benny and Samantha.A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas.
