Helen I. Dorf (nee: Kremis) Helen Irene (Kremis) Dorf, 87, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 11, 2015, after a long sojourn with dementia. She was born on August 24, 1927, daughter of the late Victor and Amelia (nee: Bankowski) Kremis. Helen Dorf will always be remembered by friends and family for her infectious laughter and good natured demeanor, which made everyone around her feel joyful. The characteristic that most defined Helen was her ability to extend selfless service and kindness to everyone around her without ever asking anything in return. Whether it was her involvement at St. Stanislaus Parish/ School, or her partnership with her husband Raymond Dorf in owning O’Neil Leather Specialties, or her hosting family, friends, and employees for her annual Christmas Open House, everything she did was done in a spirit which conveyed love to everyone around her. Helen was considered a ‘good friend’ by all that knew her. If the image of God is giving without asking anything in return, Helen Dorf epitomized that image in the object lesson which was her life. Helen’s spirit will surely be missed. Helen is survived by her children, Jane, Mark (Carol), Tom (Mija), Dan (Cindy), Tim (Valerie), and Chris (Theresa); grandchildren Sheila (Marco), Roxanne (Nick), Daniel (Aya), and Kathryn; great grandchildren, Natalie, Emma, Layla, Penelope, Vivienne, and Edward. She is also survived by one sister, Marian; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Jane; sister-in-law, Sabene; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sisters Tessie, Vickie, Julie, and Gertie; brothers, Al, Leo, Wally, Clem, and Joe.
