Ira Edwin ReynoldsCedar CityIra Edwin Reynolds passed away peacefully at home eating a bowl of chocolate pudding on December 10, 2016 with his wife, Margaret at his side. He was a resident of Cedar City, Utah.Ira was born on June 22, 1930. He often exclaimed, "I was born on the longest day of the year." He was born to Ralph Christensen Reynolds and Arminta Jack Reynolds in Sanford, Colorado. Ira was the fourth of five children and the youngest son. He was always proud to be from the beautiful San Luis Valley.In 1952, Ira enlisted in the
United States Marine Corps serving the country of his birthright during the
Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954. Because of this service to his country and his undying devotion to the Constitution, Ira instilled a love of country and patriotism in each of his children.Ira married Margaret Ann Buhr on October 2, 1954. To this union eleven children were born: Cheryl (Craig) Dickason, Tom (Chris), Wayne (Jeanine), Gene (Denine), Steve (Tami Reynolds-Call), Bonnie (Rodney) Doolin, Michael (Lourie), Jonathan (Kathleen), Shelly Reynolds, Jennifer Harris, Jeremy (Suzanne). He was blessed with 45 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren with the blessing of three additional spirits joining his posterity in coming months, and 2 great-great grandchildren.Ira has been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many leadership positions and enjoyed working with the youth. Ira was a temple ordinance worker in the St. George Temple for three years. He was committed to serving wherever the Lord needed him.Ira was preceded in death by his parents, his three older brothers, his son Steven, his granddaughter Betsy, and his great grandson Christian and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Canyon View Stake Center (1985 North Main Street, Cedar City UT). A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2017 at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 North 300 West, Cedar City UT) and a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Canyon View Stake Center.
