On April 26, 2024, James earthy assignment was completed. “He is now resting in the arms of the Lord” James Reginald Talley was the son of the late Samulla Elaine Talley. He was born November 10, 1957, in Nashville Tennessee. James was christened at St. Peter African Methodist Church at six weeks old and his journey with the lord started at that point of his life. He received his education in the Davidson County Public School system. Throughout his journey serving the Lord, he loved to utilize his voice to sing for Christ. As a member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church James served on the (usher board, men’s minister, nurse guild, and kitchen committee) and was one of the voices in the outstanding choir,
James retired from the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) as a long-term employee. He enjoyed Competing in the bus rodeo event. He was very competitive often time walking away with awards. He would be so excited and talked for days after the event. He enjoyed connecting with people, attending family reunions, church picnics just to name a few of his social connections.
James is survived by Aunt, Essie Spann, Uncle, Aveyon Talley (Priscilla) Cousins, Sandra Spann, Adriane Spann-Knight, Jarvis Spann, Yavonne Coleman (Jarmine) Arna Talley, De’Ashia Knight, Askani Kean, Antonio Knight, Cordell (CJ) Parker, Aaliyah Talley, Carmon Talley, Armani Talley, Kylan Talley and a host of other relative’s Special friends, Richard Black, Jeanette Floyd Dotson and many more. Therefore, if your name is not listed know it was not intentional. James did not meet a stranger he embraced everyone. He loved all of you and his church family.
