Brantmier, JamesJames Brantmier passed away comfortably at home after an extended illness in the loving arms of his wife Otella on February 22, 2017. James was born on March 6, 1941 in Oshkosh. He attended Omro High. He enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Korea as a Communication Officer at a Mars Station and was honorably discharge as Sargent. James worked in the electronics field all his life. A graduate of DeVry University and later obtained a B.A. Business Machines from University of Wisconsin- Madison. He taught at the Marine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac. James was employed in the Oshkosh area as a Service Manager for business machines. On February 26, 1965, he married Otella Kearnes, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Otella, his five children; Cindy (Jeff) Hackbarth, Brenda Vertz, Perry (Jenn) Brantmier, Paul (Gabby) Brantmier, and Allan Brantmier, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. James is also survived by his sister, Barbara Meyers.James is preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene and Jerome, and his brother, Michael Brantmier. Jim enjoyed collecting and restoring vintage tractors which were used on his 10 acre farm. Radio controlled aircraft, Lionel trains, and war memorabilia were passions of Jim's. Together, Jim and Otella owned and operated the Customline Industries and Memory Lane Antique Mall, both in Sheboygan. His last job was with North American Hydro in Neshkoro, as an electrician, retro-fitting dams in the Midwest. Known as a hardworking, innovative, problem-solving man, Jim took quiet pride in passing onto his children those very qualities. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, 4:30 p.m. in Fox Cities Cremation Chapel, 3026 Jackson Street, with Reverend Mathew Simonar officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 at the chapel with Military Honors to follow.
