Jane Irene HomzeMoorpark, CAJane Irene Homze passed away on May 22, 2017 at the age of 89, after a brief illness.Jane was born on September 11, 1927 in Massillion, Ohio and resided there until the family relocated to California in the late 1950s. In her more recent years, she divided her time between her residence in Moorpark, California and her residence in Anthem, Arizona. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. After the move to California, she used her skills as a substitute teacher in various school districts in Ventura County, California. Jane was kept very busy being a devoted mother to her three children as well as a devoted spouse to her husband's busy schedule. Her husband, John (Jim), was a teacher and football coach at Buena High School in Ventura, California as well as a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus chapter of Moorpark, California. After their retirement, she enjoyed life on their lemon and avocado ranch in Moorpark, cooking at the lenton fish fries with the Knights of Columbus, spending time with her grandchildren, searching for a new addition to her Gnome collection and staying active with friends. Jane was a founding member and server of the Rosary Alter Society with Holy Cross Church in Moorpark, California. She was also a member of Kappa Delta Soriety and helped to start an alumni chapter in Ventura County.She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her husband, John (Jim) J. Homze. Jane is survived by her three children - Linda Homze, Anthem, Arizona, Doug Homze (Sharon), Ojai, California and Debi Barnwell (Henry) of Red Bluff, California; five grandchildren ? Adam (Joy), Justin, Garrett (Sharissa), Sharine and Reba and three great grandchildren ? Kolt, Quinn and Winter.A celebration of her life is planned for September 11, 2017 at Holy Cross Church in Moorpark, California with a rosary at 9:30 am followed by a mass at 10:00 am with a reception in the hall after the mass.In lieu of flowers, the family requests those that wish to honor her memory may make a gift to their favorite charity.
