BUTLER — Jane E. Smyth, 68, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 18, 1945, in rural Butler to Lemuel and Rosie (Schrader) Smyth. Jane enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, baking cakes, shopping, horse racing, and following her "kids" in all of their sports activities. Survivors include three sisters, Janet Krieger of Churubusco, Linda Blackburn of Butler, and Maggie (Doug) Upp of Butler; a brother, Jim (Donna) Smyth of Butler; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charlie Smyth and Frank Smyth. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Butler United Methodist Church. Funeral services are Monday, June 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kevin Marsh officiating. Burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery.
