Jayvon Dennis Young, 12, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at First United Methodist Church. Pastor Ramon Florez of River of Life Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (new section). Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Friday at West Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Jayvon Dennis Young was born on September 10, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM to Melissa Perez and Dennis Young. Jayvon was a student at the 6th Grade Academy where he was an A & B Honor Roll Student as well as a very active athlete who played basketball and football. He was very proud of his Falcon Football Team when they won the local Super Bowl in November 2016 and thought highly of his Coach Chris.He loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing video games with his brothers, going to the Rec Center with his best friend Christian and most of all loved spending time with his dog Coco. Jayvon was loved by many and will truly be missed.He was preceded in death by his brother JoAnthony Ray; maternal great-grandparents, Vicente and Amelia Perez and paternal great-grandparents, Leo and Swannie Young. Jayvon leaves to mourn his parents; sisters: Destiny, Geniece, Nisha and Charlene; brothers: Davion, Erik, Josh, Javan and Jordan; niece Amelia, nephew Jeremiah and his best friend his dog Coco as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Pallbearers are Erik and Josh Perez, Dion and Javan Young, David Armstrong and Patrick Renfrow. Honorary Pallbearers are Christian O'Neal, Joseph Granger, Devin McWright, Chantelle Uranga and the Falcon Football Team.
