LAKE NEBAGAMON - Jerome L. “Jerry” Rieckhoff, 82, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 1, 1931 in Racine County, WI to George and Gladys (Hunter) Rieckhoff. He graduated from the Horlick High School in Racine and the University of Michigan with a degree in Wildlife Management. Jerry served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Ann Bell on February 7, 1959 and celebrated fifty-four years of marriage. Jerry was employed as a game manager and area supervisor for the Department of Natural Resources for over thirty-two years. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon and the Lake Nebagamon Lions Club. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He loved to sing and spend time with family and friends. In addition to his wife Mary, Jerry is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Zigan, Golden Valley, MN, Janet Tokar, Lake Nebagamon, WI; two sons, Scott (Anne) Rieckhoff, Waukesha, WI, Andy (Farah) Rieckhoff, Imperial Beach, CA; eight grandchildren, Nolan Tokar, Jacob Tokar, Raven Kneass, Lindsay Zigan, Mitchell Rieckhoff, Courtney Zigan, Benjamin Rieckhoff and Rose Tokar and one sister, Betty (Clarence) Denzin, Racine, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Rieckhoff, Jr. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the 12 Noon Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon with Rev. Fr. Sangmoon Kim and Rev. Fr. Dean Buttrick, concelebrating the mass. Inurnment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI at a later date. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon or to the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
