Port Isabel, TX - Jesus A. Bermea, Sr., age 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Laguna Heights, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1947 in Monterrey, Mexico to Olivio and Hortencia Avila Bermea. A native of Harlingen, Jesus was a graduate of the Harlingen High School Class of 1967 and was a member of the Harlingen Cardinal Football team. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Jesus obtained an Associates Degree from the University of Oklahoma Medical Branch and graduated top of his class in Ultra Sound Radiology. He was also owner of Jesse's Cantina & Restaurant on South Padre Island where he resided for 30 years.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irma Pena, his sons, Jesus Bermea Jr. and Benjamin Bermea; brother, Arturo Bermea, and his wife, Ana Bermea; sisters, Leticia A. Hinojosa, Pedie A. Cano, and Mary A. Cano; nephews, Arturo David Bermea Jr. and Aaron Abel Bermea; uncles, Ramiro Bermea and Santos Rene Bermea; and aunts, Margarita Rocha, Esperanza Bermea, Maria Quiroz, and Marta Flores.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
