Mr. Jimmy Wills, aged 88, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Chester, South Carolina. Born on March 20, 1938, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Jimmy lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family and community.
Jimmy received his early education through the Fairfield County Educational System before pursuing higher education at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina. There, he earned a degree in Maintenance Engineering, which became the foundation of his professional career.
A proud veteran, Jimmy served his country with honor for ten years as a soldier in the United States Army. His service included time as a combatant during the Vietnam War—a testament to his courage and commitment to protecting others.
Jimmy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice Johnson (Wills), who passed away in August of 1999. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He is survived by his children: daughters Debbie Wills Slim (Wallace) and Theresa Wills Joseph (Campbell), both of Gainesville, Florida; and son Gregory Wills of Charlotte, North Carolina. He also leaves behind a devoted granddaughter, Latasha Hicklin of Rock Hill, South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Known affectionately as a "gentle giant with a heart of gold," Jimmy's kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
