FRANKLIN - JoAnn Smith Kingsford, 76, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, in Preston, Idaho. She was born on Sept. 6, 1933, in Hyrum, Utah, to Nelton and Gladys Chugg Smith. She married Deon W. Kingsford on June 25, 1954, in Hyrum, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. JoAnn loved games and particularly enjoyed pinochle club, bowling and shopping. She loved to spend time with family and enjoyed family parties and watching the Utah Jazz. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Relief Society compassionate service and a visiting teacher, as well as a librarian. She also worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service in Franklin. She is survived by her husband, Deon W. Kingsford, of Franklin; a daughter, DeAnn (Lynn) Foster, of Preston, Idaho; a son, Richard (Robin) Kingsford, of Preston, Idaho; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Iva Lou (Glenn) Hiibner, of Mendon, Utah; a brother, Homer (Connie) Smith, of Logan, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Sheila Smith, of Hyrum, Utah. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Kingsford; two sisters, Cleo Thorup and Rula Cushman; and five brothers, Ariel Hansen, Asell Bill Smith, Stratford Smith, Jack Smith and Robert Smith. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop David Woodward conducting. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center in Franklin.
