Joe HaynesNovember 2, 1928 - February 5, 2013Joe Beal Haynes, age 84, a long time resident of Granbury, Texas, passed away due to natural causes on Feb. 5, 2013 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on November 2, 1928 in Post, Texas to Ervin King and Alma Haynes. He attended Snyder High School in Snyder, Texas and graduated in 1946. After graduation Joe worked various jobs throughout the Unites States, hitch hiking as he went. He proudly served in the Army in Germany from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was an ambulance driver and patrolled the East Germany border. Following his honorable discharge from the service, Joe returned to his home in Pie Town, New Mexico. There he met and married his wife, Mary Brooks Bryan, in Globe, Arizona. They began their married life in Datil, New Mexico, soon moving to Roswell, New Mexico where Joe drove a tanker for Anderson and Watkins. He was named "Truck Driver of the Year" for the state of New Mexico by the State Highway Patrol. Joe eventually moved his family to Texas. He was a long time resident of Granbury, living there for 30 years. Throughout his life time Joe worked many different jobs, some of which included the New Mexico Port of Entry, drove road graders, built golf carts and worked as a security guard.Joe was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Alma; son, Ervin; grandson, Benjamin; brothers, Clyde and Clifford; and sisters, Zelma, Dorothy and Vera. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Randall (Sherrie) Haynes of Ignacio, Colorado, Deborah (George) Bales of Hico, Texas, Mary (Sando) Moore of Pocatello, Idaho; eight grandsons and four granddaughters; as well as eleven great granddaughters and one great grandson.Services will be held at a later date in Ignacio, Colorado.
