John Grooms of Washington, D.C., passed away on July 15, 2024. Born on July 8, 1950, he was the beloved son of John and Ava Grooms. He is survived by his loving partner, Evelyn, and their three children, John, Jovan, and Jonathan.

John dedicated his life to serving his community as a member of the District of Columbia Police Department. He worked tirelessly for many years, ultimately retiring in 2015.

John will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his commitment to keeping the streets of Washington, D.C. safe. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
