Destree, Karen A.Karen A. Destree, 74, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017, after a long-fought battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy; her family was at her side. She was born on March 14, 1943, in Kewaunee County at a cheese factory to the late Clarence and Ethel (Tlachac) Cherveny. She was a Kewaunee High School graduate and later married Wayne Destree on June 23, 1962. She was a homemaker in her earlier years and later became the Treasurer of the Village of Ashwaubenon. Karen was involved with the Women's Guild at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and shopper especially at Nordstroms. Karen traveled extensively with her family, but truly enjoyed her stays at Wind River Ranch in Colorado. Most of all, Karen was devoted to her family and loved her grandchildren very much. Karen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Destree; children, Kelly (Stephen) Herlache, Kyle (Tori) Destree, and Kristin (Anthony) Uttech; grandchildren, Danielle (John) Davis, Brady, Kalissa, Brice, and Brevin Destree, Emmalee, Isabelle, and Grayson Uttech; great grandson, Ethan Davis; siblings, Larry (Margo) Cherveny, Clarence (Diann) Cherveny, Bill (Julie) Cherveny, and Amy (Gary) Tess.Karen was preceded in death by parents.Visitation will be held at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Reverend Michael Ingold officiating.
