Karen Helen Gosch1941 - 2014Karen Helen Gosch, 72, of Meadowlands, Minn., died, on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, as the result of a house fire. She was born on July 9, 1941, to Edward and Florence (Leeseberg) Gosch in Elmhurst, Ill. She lived in Kenosha, Wis., where she worked as a registered nurse at Societys Assets, Hospice Alliance, Upjohn, and St. Catherines Hospital. She was employed as an RN with approximately 50 years of working experience. Karen volunteered for the Pleasant Prairie EMTs in the late 1980s early 1990s and during that time period she helped serve at the Shalom Center in Kenosha. Karen married John Stoessel on June 15, 2002, at Good Shepherd Church in Pleasant Prairie, WI. They made their home in Meadowlands, Minn., where she was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Proctor Community Band, a volunteer with St. Lukes Hospice and active with her husband in Civil War Reenactments 8th Wisconsin located in Eau Claire, WI. She was employed as a registered nurse for senior friends in the Meadowlands area and recently retired in 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, John Stoessel of Meadowlands; her children, Caroline Moe and William Moe both of Kenosha, Wis.; her granddaughter, Chloe; her sister, Linda (Dennis Kruse) Gosch of Sarasota, Fla., and four stepchildren. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. in the Meadowlands Community Center. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Marys Catholic Church in Meadowlands. Interment will be at a later date in St. Josephs Cemetery in Elmer, Minn. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, MN (218)-727-3555.
