Larry ReuscherWASHINGTON - Lawrence "Larry" Reuscher, 86, of Washington passed away at 7:17 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.Larry was born on October 20, 1930, in Campbell Hill, IL, to William and Esther Lange Reuscher. He married Jessie M. Krupp on January 11, 1953, in Campbell Hill. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2016.Surviving are their children, Bill (Cindy) Reuscher of Magnolia, Kurt Reuscher of East Peoria and Eric (Nancy) Reuscher of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Neal of Sparta. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.Larry retired from Caterpillar in 1992 after 43 years of service, primarily at the proving grounds. For many years, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. He was an avid hunter and past member of the Peoria Skeet and Trap Club. He loved baseball and enjoyed playing in his younger years; in the 1950s, he played for the military baseball team. Larry also liked riding motorcycles and was very mechanically inclined. He loved fixing up project cars and motorcycles. First and foremost, Larry was a family man.A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
