Lois E. Meinders 1922—2016Lois Ella Meinders, 93, of Freeport, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in her home. Lois was born on August 29, 1922 in Cedarville, the daughter of Oliver and Addie (Moses) Hutmacher. Lois married Arthur Meinders on June 2, 1946 in Cedarville. Arthur died on October 18, 1982. She worked for Kraft Foods before retiring from Furst-McNess where she worked in the Accounts Receivable Department. Lois was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a Cub Scout den mother, Bible school teacher; she loved painting, following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Lois loved vacationing at the Lake. Surviving are 3 sons, Tom Meinders, Marty (Colleen) Meinders, and Donnie (Kay) Meinders; grandchildren, Aaron Meinders, Tracy (Jacob) Heitz, Daniel (Melissa) Meinders, Tonya Eilders, Rett Meinders, Kris Feld, Jeremy Bonnet, Glenda (Dennis) Corp, Chad Funk and Andrea Rios. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, Ruby Barr, Marie Bloom, Marcet Zentner, and Jean Folgate; and daughter-in-law, Laura Meinders. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday May 16, 2016 at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. John Wesley Lee will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home.
