Miller, Louie Jr. Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Great-grandpa, Uncle and Friend passed away on November 4, 2017. Louie was born on December 24, 1924 in Santa Barbara, California, but raised in Yuma, Arizona. He graduated Yuma High School in 1942 and attended Arizona State University from 1942-1943. He served in the Unites States Navy (1943-1946) during
World War II as a Torpedoman in the Philippines. Upon his honorable discharge in 1946 he returned to Yuma where he met his future wife Sally Franklin. Louie joined the Arizona Water Company in 1955 at the time of its formation. He started out as Divisional Manager for the company's water system in Coolidge and Florence. He held many titles during his career advancing to become Vice President - Operations in 1969. In 1980 Louie was the recipient of the George Warren Fuller Award, which signifies and honors the "Water Utility Man of the Year" by the Arizona section of the American Water Works Association. He retired in 1989 after 30 years in the water utility industry. Louie loved being with family and friends, celebrating holidays and special occasions. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling, playing poker and spending summers in the White Mountains. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be deeply missed - especially by his family who will always love him with all of their heart. Louie is survived by his three children Luana, Gary (Jane), and Marty; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by the Funeral at 10:00 AM, Saturday November 18, 2017 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, 85020.
