Trevathan, Louis Bailey Louis Bailey Trevathan, age 100, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 30, 2017 surrounded by family at his home in Scottsdale, AZ. He was born on October 19, 1916 in Speed, NC and was the oldest of 7 children born to Mary Bailey and Jesse Ernest Trevathan. In 1941, he was married to Jacquelyn Vey Hauser of Mt. Airy, NC. They were married for 58 years until her death in March 1999. Louis is survived by their 2 children, Suzanne Trevathan Lieske (Harvey) of Scottsdale, AZ and Louis B. Trevathan Jr. (Pam Nicosin) of Santa Fe, NM. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Mary Catherine Biggerstaff and Vivian Rose Maitland, 6 grandsons; Scott and Sean Lieske; Ian, Micah, Zachary and Wyatt Trevathan, 4 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. Louis proudly served his country for 30 years in the US Army, retiring in 1971 as a Colonel. After his retirement from the military, he continued to serve his community in the various places he lived through involvement in local civic groups. He loved his family and country and his devotion to both was evident in the way he lived. He was likewise beloved and admired by the members of his family who will miss him very much. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to his favorite charity the American Red Cross designated for the use in helping the Puerto Rican people recover from the recent devastation in their country. Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 9th at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
