MARGARET S. A. BAKER, 88 FREEPORT - Margaret S.A. Baker, 88, a resident of Stephenson Nursing Center, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1926 in Freeport, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Kruse) Koertner. Margaret was a Homemaker and babysitter. She married Otto Baker Sr. on August 27, 1948 in Pearl City. He died on August 11, 1973. Margaret was a former member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Ladies Moose in Freeport. She attended faith Lutheran Church, Forreston. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include two sons, Albert (Judy) Baker of Freeport and Otto (Angie) Baker Jr. of Monroe; four daughters, Linda Morris of Wonewoc, WI., Barbara (Armin Jr.) Wand of Argyle, WI., Elaine Baker (Leon Laws) of Milton, WI. and Rita Wand (Don Foell) of Freeport; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren, She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three daughters. Funeral services will be Friday 1 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs, Freeport. The Rev. Dr. Willis R. Schwichtenberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs.
